Description
Cold frames, as every gardener is aware, are extremely useful for starting plants off early in the spring, and protecting tender plants.
Forest's Large Overlap Cold Frame is a particularly attractive example that does its job beautifully. Your gardening year will start that bit earlier when you sow the first seeds even if frost is still about.
There's two independently opening lids that, as they are glazed with acrylic, let in plenty of light and then can be opened as part of the hardening off process.
The range of plants that you can grow will be sufficiently increased to justify the purchase of this pressure treated cold frame that is guaranteed against rot for 15 years.
This Forest product is pressure treated and carries a 15 year guarantee against rot. This means it will never require any further treatment - saving time and money and helping the environment.

We offer fast and free delivery within mainland UK on our Forest products.
Delivery Period
Delivery will typically be made within 3 - 5 working days for the majority of mainland UK locations (exclusions apply - see below for details).
For the majority of mainland UK locations, Forest products are delivered to your home directly by the manufacturer. In this instance you will receive a message by phone or email with details to manually book in a chosen delivery date.
For limited areas of south east England, limited areas of the south west England, and Scotland, Forest products are delivered by a third party carrier. In this instance, the carrier will contact you directly to book a delivery date once your order is ready at their delivery centre.

Installation
If you have purchased an installation service with us, available on selected Forest branded sheds, structures and buildings then this is completed after successful delivery of the product and is generally completed within 1 - 2 weeks following. After successful delivery, you will be contacted directly by the installers to book in an installation date. Please ensure that you have checked the delivery for all components and keep in a safe, dry place until the installation occurs.
Unfortunately, installation is not available to the following postcodes: BT1-BT99, GY1-GY9, HS1-HS9, IM1-IM9, IV41-IV56, JE1-JE5, KA27-KA28, KW15-KW17, PO30-PO41, PO49, TR21-TR25.
Vehicles We Use
For the majority of cases, items will be delivered on larger lorries which can get to most places. Typically they are a 7.5-ton lorry which is about the size of a dustbin lorry, this will depend on the item that is being delivered and should you have any concerns with restricted access to your property we ask you to contact us prior to placing an order.
Unloading Of Your Delivery
Due to the nature of this product, delivery will be made to the front of the property to the nearest location. Our drivers will not carry these items inside your home or back garden. When the item is delivered on a pallet, the pallet and packaging are non-returnable and the goods can only be maneuvered on a flat and level surface (i.e. not a gravel driveway) by a pallet truck. On some occasions, the driver will split the package to assist with the maneuvering of the item. Once you are happy, we will ask you to check the condition of the goods and sign for the delivery. Assistance with unloading may be required.

Very poor quality
Bought 2 of these. No problem with delivery. Both were in-poor condition and had clearly been stored outside for some time - rusty staples and screws. One bag of components (screws and hinges) was full of water- all were useless. Had to use my own supplies. Some timbers soaked and warped. Perspex glazing filthy and scratched. Poor instructions - reasonable level of DIY skill needed to assemble.Wouldn’t buy anything from this company again.

Very pleased as it arrived very promptly even in the middle of Covid, well wrapped. Can't comment on assembly as done for me but no problems reported. Very good size for my needs.

Good if a little awkward to assemble
Buying from the firm was easy and straightforward delivery as stated. The product was well packed .I found it a bit difficult to assemble and was surprised to find I needed to drill before assembly the instructions could be made clearer .

Not bad - but could be better
I can't criticise the quality of the material used. However, I had to tighten every one of the already fitted screws. The lids I had to rebuild using a glue to firm up the joints. I had to replace some of the 50mm screws with 60mm ones to make sure of a decent hold. I found the one-size opening provided by the prop less than useful. To remedy that I cut them into 3 sections - 200, 120 and 80 mm resp, drilled them 25mm from one end so, with judicial fitting to the frame, I ended up with much more useful openings. From the above you will note that I did not require any assistance in assembling the cold frame. Moving it around is not too difficult either, so finding the right place to place it is not a chore. On a scale of 1 to 10 it's a definite 7.

An essential aid for the gardener.
The cold frame arrived well packaged with the sides, front and back ready made. It needed two of us to assemble it due to its size and weight. The holes must be pilot drilled before screwing! The instructions could have been more detailed but we managed OK, using the picture to help us. We found that putting the props on the front, as instructed, didn't work as they ended up propping up the lids on the plastic, not the frame. It is a sturdy, well designed and well made bit of kit and I would recommend it.
