Greenwater can be totally eliminated and wastes removed. All these improvements will clearly give your fish a healthier environment.

The three key elements of a pond management system are as follows: -
1. Filter Pump Filter pumps perform a dual role within your pond. Firstly, they circulate water containing waste to the filter, secondly, they aerate the water providing beneficial oxygen and removing harmful gases. Hozelock Cyprio filter pumps will pass solid material up to 10mm to the filter, they are guaranteed for up to three years. Hozelock have two types of filter pumps:
- Titan Pumps - Efficient filter pump for garden ponds up to 27000 litres (6000 gallons).

2. Pond Filters Pond filters remove solid material including fish waste and algae and use friendly bacteria to remove harmful dissolved pollutants.
Bioforce - For ponds up to 18000 litres (4000 gallons). The Bioforce is available only with integral Hozelock Cyprio UVC. Easy to use in ground pressurised filter. Due to the fact that the unit is pressurised the water coming out of the filter can be pumped up to a waterfall.
Ecopower - The Ecopower is suitable for ponds up to 9000 litres (2000 gallons) and is the affordable answer for clear and healthy water in garden ponds. Unlike the Ecocel biological filter, the Ecopower contains an integral ultra-violet clarifier in the lid. Three process take place in filter: 1. The UVC breaks down algae to ensure clearwater 2. Solid particles are trapped by foam sheets 3. Beneficial bacteria living on plastic biomedia remove harmful pollutants like ammonia
Ecomax - Ecomax combined filter and uvc is a highly efficient mechanical and biological filter for garden fish ponds. The incorporation of spinning water in the uv chamber, an oxygenating venturi, extra biomedia and bottom up water flow all result in the filter being capable of supporting a greater fish stock than the Ecopower filter.
Ecocel - For ponds up to 9000 litres (2000 gallons). The Ecocel range of filters uses foam to act as a mechanical strainer for debris. Secondly, it is a home for billions of beneficial bacteria which digest pollutants as pollutants pass over them. When used with a Hozelock Cyprio Vorton UVC, the Ecocel carries the clearwater guarantee.
Trinamic - High performance biological filters for heavily stocked fish and koi ponds up to 20,000 litres (5,000 gallons). The trinamic delivers excellent water purity for healthier and more active fish. The filter incorporates a three stage process: 1. A dynamic oxygenated moving bed of Kaldnes K3 biomedia 2. Easy-clean foams for crystal clear water 3. Denitrifying bacteria provide an important final biological process

3. Ultra Violet Clarifier - Vorton UVC Free-floating single celled algae causes green water in ponds. This algae is too small to catch even with an effective pond filter. Our Vorton UVCs expose the algae particles to enough UV light so that they clump together (flocculate). These larger particles can then be easily filtered out as they pass through the pond filter.
The Vorton UVCs are up to 50% more efficient than many UVCs on the market. The spining flow of the water through the product (due to the "Turbulator" design) increases the unit's efficiency by even exposure of the water to the UV-light.
Vorton Ultra Violet Clarifier - For ponds up to 27000 litres (6000 gallons).

Clear water or your money back.
As every pond is different, and because we want to make sure that the filter system that you buy is the correct one, we use a set of simple guidelines to calculate your system requirements.
For the filter system as a whole we take the actual volume of your pond and then add to this volume various "conditioning factors" to take into account your particular circumstances.
For example: We add 25% if your pond is in full sunshine - because if it is, the water will warm up quicker, and algae will grow faster.
We add 25% if your pond is less than 75cm (2' 6") deep - because a high percentage of the water in the pond is exposed to the full power of the sun and algae will grow faster.
We add between 15-35% to your pond depending on where you live, if the pond is in Manchester in the UK, its going to be cooler and less sunny than if the pond is in Florida USA. If it is hotter and sunnier then algae and fish will grow faster.
This then gives us an effective pond volume, which is the amount of water we need to filter. For a filter to work though, the entire effective volume of the pond has to pass through it approximately once every two hours.
For example: A pond 0.9m x 0.9m x 0.9m (3' x 3' x 3') in full sun in Cape Town (South Africa) would have an actual pond volume of approx. 730 litres (160 gallons).
In this example we would add 25% for the pond being in full sunshine and 35% for the lovely Cape Town climate giving a total addition of 60%. Therefore, we must filter the ponds effective volume of 1170 litres (275 gallons), and any pump used should have a flow rate of at least 585 litres per hour (130 gallons per hour).
So we would filter the pond as though it had 1100 litres of water in it, and any pump we use should have a flow rate of 585 litres per hour.
