Description

Barlow Tyrie's Adirondack Armchair design is abundant with history, originating from the Adirondack Mountains in New York State.

While the design is chunky, unique and distinctive, as a lounge chair it is very comfortable along with its high curved back and angled seat which allows its user to rest and relax in style and luxury.

The precursor to today's Adirondack chair was designed by Thomas Lee in 1903. He was on vacation in Westport, New York and needed outdoor chairs for his summer home. He tested the first designs on his family and they later became a popular choice for outdoor enthusiasts throughout the USA and Europe.

Crafted from teak which is a tropical hardwood with natural durability and weather resistance.

Bespoke Product Procedure
Some products in this range, including but not limited too those with upholstery colour options on furniture, cushion colour options, engravings and inscriptions are made to order on an order-by-order basis, therefore are exempt from our usual cancellation and returns policy. Any cancellations after your order has started production may not be able to be cancelled or may be subject to cancellation charges. Although a very rare occurrence, this does not affect any orders that arrive damaged or faulty, whereby our normal terms on receiving a faulty product will apply.

Vehicles We Use
Items will be delivered on larger lorries which can get to most places it's typically, a 7.5 ton lorry which is about the size of a dustbin lorry, this will depend on the item that is being delivered and should you have any concerns with restricted access to your property we ask you to contact us prior to placing an order.

Unloading Of Your Delivery
Due to the nature of this product, delivery will be made to the front of the property to the nearest location. Our drivers will not carry these items inside your home or back garden. When the item is delivered on a pallet, the pallet and packaging are non-returnable and the goods can only be manoeuvred on a flat and level surface (i.e. not a gravel driveway) by a pallet truck. On some occasions the driver will split the package to assist with manoeuvring of the item. Once you are happy, we will ask you to check the condition of the goods and sign for the delivery.

Rewarding purchase

Due the price I wanted to see his chair prior to purchase and though this meant a 4 hour round trip I arranged with gardensite to visit the Sutton Coldfield store. Sadly circumstances prevented me from doing so and I reluctantly place my order online with the option to return if not satisfied. The chair arrived within a few days and my worries were quickly dispersed once I had opened the box and started assembly. This is a high quality product, well made from good teak hardwood. Ten minutes later I could stand back and admire the finished product. Yes it's expensive but I expect it to last well beyond the 10 year guarantee and pleased also that I didn't make the unnecessary 4 hour round trip prior to purchase.

You Pay For Quality

This chair is clearly not cheap but you have to pay top dollar if you want something that's as well made and designed. I've bought Barlow Tyrie furniture in the past and it is still as good as they day it arrived. Delivery was fairly quick, nothing really to complain about, and it looks great on my balcony.
