They are lovely and very healthy

Just received my water hyacinths. I usually like to see the plants I buy, but circumstances meant I had to buy over Internet. I was worried about what would turn up, but I am delighted, would buy again.

Super plants

I was extremely pleased with this purchase of water hyacinths. They were packed very securely and they arrived a lot quicker than predicted (water temperature is a big factor in maintaining these plants), and were large, healthy plants. They are growing now the weather has warmed up.

Brian snaithe Asked:

When is the best time to buy pond plants? How many plants would be sufficient for a 10ft pond?

We Replied:

Dear Brian Thank you for your question. The best time to buy these plants is April/May time as they are not frost hardy and prefer consistently warm temperatures. To advise you on how many plants, we would need to know the width, length and depth of your pond. Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Dan Everton

paul Asked:

Will water hyacinths keep my fountain water clear, and are they goldfish friendly?

We Replied:

Dear Paul Thank you for your question. Any plant will prevent sunlight from penetrating the water so reducing algae blooms but they will not stop the algae completely. Goldfish will love the shade. Denise Hill Asked:

Can water hyacinths be overwintered in a greenhouse?

We Replied:

Dear Denise Thank you for your question. You will need a heated greenhouse, plus lots of light (not a feature of a British winter, on the whole). Should you wish to contact us further or to place an order, please call us on 0121 355 7701. Thank you for using our online Q&A system. Kind regards Dan Everton
