Tropical Marine Centre pioneered the development of the UV Cleansing system and has manufactured them since the late 1970's. This UV110 Watt Pro pond works by halting the reproduction of algae.
The ultraviolet radiation at a wavelength of 254 nanometers is extremely effective in doing so. At the heart of this UV110 are 2 x 55watt ultraviolet lamps sealed inside a quartz sleeve.
As water is pumped through the unit, ultraviolet light from the lamp destroys the green, single celled water borne algae (which makes garden ponds murky and unattractive), this UV110 will leave the water crystal clear. The benefit of this UV110 is that there is no adverse effect on sensitive plant and pond life.
The UV110 is designed for long life. The pro pond unit is supplied with no fittings to take flexible pipe, the TMC push-fit converstion kit is required if using 40mm flexible pipe and not the standard solvent weld pipe.
The Maximum Pond Size of the UV110 is 16000 Gallons.

My pond went really green over the last year, so i called gardensite to ask how best to fix this they suggested using this in conjunction with a new filter and pump combination works like a dream so clear i can see the bottom!
How can you tell if the light is working on the TMC Pro Pond 110 Watt Ultra Violet Clarifier? Does it light up at the ends? Is there any way of checking and how do you know if the bulb is functioning ?

Sunday 23rd, March, 2014I cannot find the replacement 55watt ultraviolet lamps or prices for the TMC Pro Pond 110watt ultra violent clarifier. I see they are sealed inside a quartz sleeve. If sealed, how do you replace them?

Friday 26th, June, 2015About a month ago i replaced the tubes in my UV110 as the originals had packed up and the water was turning green and murky. After a couple of weeks my water was becoming a lot clearer but now it has become murky again. Both tubes are working fine. The 17000 pump seems fine and the filters all seem to be working. Could the replacement tubes be substandard as I cannot think of any other reason for this problem?

You will usually find that cleaning the filter foams out, and also cleaning the pump casing, should help with the murkiness. Tuesday 30th, June, 2015I understand TMC do a 110w UV for marine fish tanks. Is this the same unit just labeled up different? My friend has one and it looks exactly the same as the one in your picture! If it's a different unit can you get me one and will it be the same price as the pond one? if not how much?

Monday 24th, August, 2015I have a natural garden pond which is 30+ years old - the water is circulated but I don't wish to use a filter system. I have very green water this year - will your UV light help?
