Description
The Ecopower+ 6000 is a high performance pond filter from Hozelock with a built in ultra violet clarifier (UVC).
Water enters the filter through a stepped hosetail (25/32/40mm). From here it passes into the UV chamber. The UV chamber features a "turbulator" to ensure that the water is exposed correctly to the UV light produced by the 8 watt UV bulb. This clumps the algae that cause greenwater together and then water passes through a venturi to aerate it.
At the bottom of the filter, water passes through the biological media, and rises up through the foam filter. Waste in the bottom chamber can be desludged while the remaining filtered water exits through 32mm pipework
The biological media provides a home for friendly bacteria. These bacteria purifies the water and removes fish waste. The foam filters remove debris and solid waste.

How do you test to see if the UVC light is working?
