Still Alive and Kicking
I purchased mine on October 2014. It's 2017 now. That's almost three years ago. It's still working fine but the suction cups at the back seemed to have lost its purpose. But I just leave it standing at the bottom of the tank. Sometimes when I'm in the mood to clean it, I just removed the suction cups and place them in a hot water. Doing that restores their ability to stick in the aquarium for rather some time.

Effective and Silent
I have a 45L plastic bin that serves as a grow out tank for my juvenile guppies. I added Eheim Pick Up 2006 to it because of its small size. It keeps the water in that bin clean and clear. You can stick it to the side of your tank and it servers as a bio-filter and creates water movement. It can't clean the residue in the bottom of the tank the water movement can stock up the dirt in one place where you can easily siphon them later. It's quiet too and won't disturb your sleep at night. Just submerge it underwater with its top submerged less than half an inch in the water and it's good to go.
